Welcome to the Kiwanis Club of Flint Michigan!

Kiwanis Club of Flint Michigan chartered on April 20, 1917

 

February and March Student Athletes Announced

Congratulations to our February Student Athlete Scholars: Taylor Davis and Trent Hillger.

Taylor Davis, from Davison HS, iIs an excellent bowler who has earned among other honors:
• Senior- Nominee for Ms. Bowler. 
• Second highest 2 game series (550) in Michigan HS Bowling History. 
• Second highest season average (215) in Michigan HS Bowling History. 
• Third girl in Michigan HS Bowling history to record 2 perfect games.
• Conference Records held: High Game (300), High Series (550), High Team Game, High Team Series, High Team Baker Game, High Team 2 Game Baker.

Trent Hillger from Lake Fenton HS Excels in both Football and Wrestling. Football accomplishments include:
• Senior- 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-State (Offense and Defense), Offensive Team MVP, Team Captain

Wrestling accomplishments inlcude:
• Sophomore- 60-0, State Champ at 215, Team MVP, Team Captain
• Junior- 65-0, State Champ at 285, Team MVP, Team Captain
• Senior- 48-0, Conference and District Champ. 
• 148 career pins as of January. Selected as Wendy’s Heisman Finalist Nominee. Ranked #3 in the country at 285 by Intermat.

Congratulations to our March Student Scholar Athletes: Kalee Johnson from Davison HS and Malik Ellison from Flint Beecher HS.

Kalee is an outstanding bowler who has been named Team MVP, 1st Team All-Conference two years in a row , Top 16 singles, Team Regionals all four years and team State Champions for three years. Kalee's Davison team has won 9 of the last 10 Regional Championships and five of the last six State Championships.

Malik excels in both Football and Basketball. In Football Malik was 1st Team All-Conference for three years, Flint Journal Dream Team and First Team All-State for the past two seasons. 
 A four year varsity player in Basketball, Malik has been ranked 1st Team all Conference, Flint Journal Dream Team, Team State Champions, and has been a 1000 point scorer. He has recently set a Flint record by scoring 63 points in one game this season.

Flint Kiwanis Receives Recognition for Website

The Kiwanis Club of Flint has received the 2013 Portalbuzz Showcase Club Award from Club Resource Inc. for its website. This special recognition is given to clubs that maintain a level of excellence in their online public awareness efforts via an exemplary club website using the Portalbuzz Club Management System by Club Resource Inc. Clubs must meet or exceed eight out of ten criteria, including design, branding, content and images.
