Father Tom Firestone to address Flint Kiwanis - 04/13/2018

Thursday, April 19th, we will conclude our three-week series of inspirational programs as we welcome Father Tom Firestone, priest for the Catholic Community of Flint (St. John Vianney, St Mary Flint, St. Mathew and St. Michael). Father Tom also leads the Diocese of Lansing's Faith in Flint Initiative, working with community partners in grass roots efforts to give voice to Flint residents. In this role, he has walked the streets surrounding his parishes, many plagued with blight, to not only serve residents' immediate needs for food and shelter but to also carry their concerns to political leaders through the Michigan Faith in Action Initiative..

Thanks to Flint Kiwanis member Tony Lasher who is also Executive Director of the American Red Cross Genesee/Lapeer Chapter. Tony's topic was "Sound the Alarm: Save a Life."
Also, congratulations and best wishes are in order for Tony.

Starting Monday, April 9th, Tony be the new Regional Disaster Officer for the Michigan Region. In this new role, he will be overseeing all Red Cross disaster preparedness, response and recovery in each of Michigan’s 83 counties, guiding Red Cross disaster services staff and volunteers in each of our Regions six chapters, including East Central Bay.
